Gravenhurst is participating for the second season in the Communities In Bloom Gardens at the CN Tower in Toronto. One of nineteen gardens planted at the base of the tower, Gravenhurst is located along the entrance to the CN Tower from Bremner Blvd. The garden, planted by members of the committee, represents Muskoka: planted with cedar trees, grasses, ferns, daisies and other typical Muskoka-like plants and vegetation. The garden also features stumps and pieces of granite, along with a mulched path leading to a pair of Muskoka chairs, painted bright red and yellow. The chairs were built by local Gravenhurst Highschool woodworking student Ozzie Jarrick, while the large sign in the background was built, painted and lit by local businesses Arc Force Welding, Hunter Electric and Lochead Appliance Service. ADMISSION OFFER: As a participant in this year’s gardens, residents from Gravenhurst receive a special admission offer for the CN Tower. Residents receive a Total Tower Experience ticket for only $25.00 including all taxes (regular price is $31.99 + tax). Offer is valid June 12 to December 31st, 2009 - maximum 4 tickets per transaction. Tickets must be purchased at the CN Tower box office. Residents must provide proof of residency at time of purchase (eg. Driver’s license, tax bill).
