The Gravenhurst Winter Carnival is a cherished annual tradition in the heart of Muskoka, celebrating the magic of winter with fun for all ages. This family-friendly event offers exciting activities like the demo derby, Skokie's Birthday Party, cardboard box races, and snow sculptures. Guests can enjoy yummy food from food trucks, live entertainment, and unique games that bring the community together.
Held over Family Day Weekend in February, the carnival captures the joy of winter while showcasing Gravenhurst's vibrant spirit. Whether you're a fan of winter sports or cozy festivities, the Gravenhurst Winter Carnival is a must-visit for unforgettable seasonal fun!
Meet Skokie!
Skokie is our official Winter Carnival mascot! Skokie is an otter.
In 1971 when the Carnival was started, they decided a mascot was needed. They had an elementary school contest to decide on the mascot and an Otter named Skokie was chosen!
Every year we celebrate Skokie's birthday with a super-fun party on the Friday of Winter Carnival weekend. This year Skokie will be 55 years old!
Skokie loves hosting the Winter Carnival and checking out all of the fun and games. Skokie is always happy to meet the fans - don't be shy! Come and say hi and share a high five or a photo with Skokie.
