Borrowing

Information on borrowing items from the Library. 

  • A hold is a request for certain items in the library.
  • You must have a valid library card to place a hold.
  • You can place a hold in person, by phone or by using your online account.
  • When your item becomes available, a library staff member will phone or email you.
  • Once we have notified you, you have 4 days to come to the library and pick up the item.

  • Find the item you would like using the online catalogue.
  • From the details page of the item you want, select “Request Item”.
  • Type in your entire 14 digit library card number.
  • Type in your PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number).
  • Click “Place hold” on the request confirmation page.
  • Choose return to searching or logout and return.
  • We will phone or email you when the item is available.

  • Select the “My Account” tab at the top of the page from the online catalogue.
  • Type in your entire 14 digit library card number.
  • Type in your PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number).
  • Click on the “Holds” tab at the top of the page.
  • Select the item you would like to delete.
  • Click “Cancel Request”.

Yes! The Library is part of the province-wide interlibrary loan service and we can request items from other library systems in and outside of Ontario. Please fill out this form or suggest a purchase.  

  • DVDs/CDs - 10 per card
  • There is no limit for other items.

  • DVDs, video games and CDs are on loan for 1 week.
  • Mifi's are on loan for 1 week and limited to 1 per household.
  • Adventure packs are on loan for 1 week. 
  • All other items are on loan for 3 weeks, though more popular items are on loan for 2 weeks.
  • You can renew an item if no one has requested it.

  • You may ask staff at the library in person, by phone or by checking your account on the Library's online catalogue.

  • Click on the link to enter the online catalogue.
  • Click the “My Account” tab at the top of the page.
  • Enter your entire 14 digit library card number.
  • Enter your PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number).
  • Click on the “Checked Out” tab to see what you have checked out on your card.

We are fine free for our materials

  • This means no more daily late fines for overdue items.
  • Fines will be cleared from all Library accounts.
  • Lost and damaged charges will still apply.
  • Please note - There are fines and fees for late interlibrary loan items. 

Yes, items can be renewed in person at the library, by phoning or online through "My Account" on the library's website. If there is a hold for another patron on an item, you will not be able to renew it.

  • Click on the link to enter the online catalogue.
  • Click the “My Account” tab at the top of the page.
  • Enter your entire 14 digit library card number.
  • Enter your PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number).
  • Click on the “Checked Out” tab to see what you have checked out on your card.
  • Check the book beside the item you would like to renew.
  • Once the item is checked, click on “Renew” at the top or bottom of list.

If you damage or lose an item you will be charged the cost of replacing the item plus a $10.00 processing fee. If, within 6 months, you find the lost item, at the library's staff discretion, you can receive a refund with the receipt, not including the processing fee.
