Do we have your history?
Gravenhurst Archives holds the history of Gravenhurst including West Gravenhurst and the former townships of Morrison, Muskoka and Ryde.
The Archives holds over 500 collections provided by donors including
- The Cecil Porter Fonds
- The Henry Fry Fonds
- Gravenhurst High School Fonds
- The Opera House and Summer Theatre Fonds
- The Lloyd Stamp Fonds
Over 120,000 photographs and documents have been digitized to a fully searchable database housed on Library Computers. The extensive collection of Gravenhurst newspapers exists on microfilm.
We receive new items and collections weekly -- family trees, photographs, artifacts, yearbooks, letters, deeds, all of which are protected for future generations.
How do I contact the Archives?
Appointments are required. The members of the Archives are volunteers and do not have set hours. For appointments, please email gravenhurstarchives@gmail.com or call Judy at 705-687-6289
Muskoka Collection
We have a collection of Muskoka specific books. Some are reference books for library use only. Some copies are available to be checked out with your library card. We add new content to this section often.
