Litter and Debris Pick Up
As the ‘Gateway to Muskoka’, Gravenhurst prides itself on its natural landscape in which the community is situated. Litter and debris is unsightly, is costly and avoidable. Help keep your community clean.
Illegal dumping and littering is illegal. Fines for littering and illegal dumping can be issued in accordance to the Town’s Highway Control By-law (No. 99-35), as amended, and the Littering Control By-law (No. 98-97).
What We Do
- Allocate resources to clean-up litter and debris, including illegally dumped garbage; and
- Remove deceased animals on the road, as required.
How You Can Help
- DO NOT dispose of litter or debris in watercourses, lakes, rivers;
- DO NOT dispose of litter and debris illegally, including on or in roads, ditches, private property (other than your own);
- Dispose of waste materials in designated waste receptacles. If no receptacle is immediately available, please take it with you; and
- Report siting of illegal dumping or dead animals on the road in the Town.
