Gravenhurst significant weather event update - March 30, 2025
The Town of Gravenhurst’s significant weather event declaration continues.
The town is urging people to stay home.
If people must travel, please use extreme caution, and allow for extra time to reach destinations.
For road information, see 511 and Municipal 511.
Municipal crews continue to clear fallen trees and branches from roads. This work will continue for several days.
Workers are also sanding and salting main roads. Secondary roads will receive attention as time and resources allow.
Utility crews continue to repair downed power lines. This will be ongoing this week.
The town is reminding people to stay away from downed lines.
To report a downed line, call 9-1-1.
For power outage information, see the Elexicon Outage Map or the Hydro One Outage Map.
People operating generators should ensure these devices are away from windows and doors. As well, generators should not be operated near furnace or appliance intake pipes.
Warming station
While the town is urging people to stay home, the Centennial Centre, at 101 Centennial Dr., is open as a warming station until 8 p.m. tonight. People can also charge devices there.
The town anticipates the centre will open for regular business hours on Monday, starting at 8 a.m.
Watch the town’s website and social media channels for further updates.
