Snow removal operations update: Feb. 25, 2025

The Town of Gravenhurst continues to address road widening with crews throughout the community.

A significant weather event was declared on Feb. 14, allowing the town time to widen roadways. 

Contractors will be focusing on the following areas beginning today (Feb. 25) for either snow removal or pushing back snowbanks:

• Bridges throughout the community
• Brydons Bay Rd. (portion)
• Alexander St.
• Palmer Dr.
• McKenzie St.
• Douglas St.
• Catherine St.
• Tiffany Trail
• Evans Ave.
• Blanchard St.
• Pine St.
• Freeland Dr.
• Thain St.
• Kingbrook Ct
• Wellington St.
• Oakwood Dr.

Town of Gravenhurst team members will be working on pushing or blowing back snowbanks on the following roads:

• Knister Rd.
• Lakeview Ave.
• Vincent Ave.
• Robinson Ave.
• Rural and cottage roads are being widened at various locations throughout the community (town and contractor)
• Barkway Rd. and Merkley Rd. in Ward 4 have been widened 
• North Kahshe Lake Rd., South Kahshe Lake Rd., Kilworthy Rd. have been widened

Town of Gravenhurst team members will continue to open up catch basins and drainage courses throughout the town and will address any blocked or frozen culverts. 

Sidewalk clearing teams will be out addressing their routes and assisting with pushing back snowbanks. These are smaller vehicles. Please use caution when passing these vehicles and drive according to weather and road conditions.

Residents and businesses concerned about flooding as temperatures rise should take steps to protect their property.
