Welcome to the Gravenhurst Opera House

Our 305 seat venue, originally built in 1901, has a rich history and bright future! The Gravenhurst Opera House is proud to be open year-round and present a wide variety of live performances. 

Box Office Hours 

Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Open until show-time on performance day. Purchase tickets in person, by phone at 705-687-5550, or online at any time.

Tickets
You may purchase tickets online or through the Box Office. We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit and cash. We may process your purchase over the phone with a valid credit card. Tickets purchased online or over the phone can be picked up at the Box Office or emailed to you. We do not mail out tickets. If you choose to have your tickets emailed to you, you do not need to print them. They can be scanned from your phone. Ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.

Show Times
If you are picking up your tickets from the Box Office, please arrive 30 minutes prior to show time. If you already have your tickets in hand, please arrive at least 15 minutes before show time.

Bar and Lounge
We have a CASH ONLY bar that is open one hour prior to show time, and at intermission. We serve wine by the glass, craft beers, coolers, and mixed drinks. Non-alcoholic beverages are available as well as snacks. 

ATM (Automated Teller Machine)
There is an ATM onsite beside the box office. 

Coat Check
Our theatre does not have a coat check. We do however have a spot for you to hang your jacket in cooler months if you wish. We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Parking
You can park on most streets for up to 3 hours. Please refer to posted signs for details. On some streets there is a 3 hour limit from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday. There is also a parking lot behind the Opera House, at the Public Library (on John Street South) that is free with no time limit.

Dress Code
There is no dress code enforced in our theatre, we welcome casual attire.

Accessibility and Listening Devices
We are a fully accessible facility with an in-theatre dedicated wheelchair seating area (row A and B on either side), assisted hearing devices, designated restroom, an accessible entrance and an elevator to theatre and stage levels.

Groups
Ask about our year-round group rates and other discounts. Bus tours and large groups are always welcome but we ask that you please let us know prior to your arrival so that we are prepared. We offer group discounts to parties of 10 or more for productions that are ours. Please email Kelly Hamilton for applicable shows & rates.

Seating
View our seating chart. We have 19 rows of seating, for a total of 305 seats. Every seat really is a good seat! We also offer wider seats in every other aisle (middle section only) to those that want a little extra wiggle room to stretch out.

Babes in Arms
There is a 'no babes in arms' policy. Every person must have a ticket in order to be admitted to a performance as per the Fire Marshall. All patrons who enter the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

Temperature Control
Even though the Opera House was built in 1901, we have done many upgrades over the years, and that includes new furnace and air systems, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
