Elton Rohn is thrilling audiences everywhere. Hailing from Toronto, Canada they have headlined over 350 theatres and festival shows in North America. All the way from Las Vegas to Atlantic City, California, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Myrtle Beach, Pennsylvania, across Michigan and upstate New York and all across Canada. They were the only Elton John tribute asked to play the Elton John convention in Las Vegas where they met the band. Davey Johnstone (Elton’s long time guitarist and musical director) told the band they were the best 70’s Elton John tribute in the world. Nigel Olsson ( Elton’s long time drummer) said “Elton has a twin”.

Audiences are amazed at just how close this show sounds to the real Elton John. As Elton, Ron Camilleri has the vocal, the piano, the look and the feel of the real Elton John performance. You’ll feel like you are watching the real Elton John. The passion, energy and those incredible vocals are there. Plus the harmonies. Performed live (no tracks), the band is the closest you’ll get to the real 70’s Elton sound. Even Davey Johnstone thinks so. The band is a regular best in show at festivals and they’ve sold out theatres in major cities.

An Elton Rohn show is just like seeing another Elton John. The music is played 100% live. The musicianship is on an elite level. One trip to the band’s website and you’ll see hundreds of testimonials stating just how great this show is. This is a show not to be missed. The very best of Elton John.

This monthly meeting of the musical minds is always an enjoyable experience for the audience and the talent alike. No two evenings are the same. The stories are always fascinating and the music that flows back and forth between the artists is always a delight.

Michael Phillips, aka Mighty Lopez, is a multi-instrumental singer-songwriter drawing on influences from classic Americana & Canadiana roots, along with Bracebridge Environmentalist-Singer-Songwriter Neil Hutchison and retired Jingle Writer, George Axon of Axon Studios Inc.

A Georgetown, Ontario native and Toronto expat, Sean Cotton currently creates and performs in the Central Ontario regions of Muskoka and Almaguin Highlands. After retiring from a 20 year career on the road and in the studio as a guitar player and harmony vocalist with performing-songwriting duo The Undesirables, Sean has settled in the village of Burk's Falls, Ontario where he operates a recording studio producing artist, recording his own albums as well as working as a jingle composer for radio. Over the years Sean has been a sideman for artists as diverse as Indie New Country Artist Marshall Dane, Blues and R&B singer Treasa Levasseur, and Pop singer Suzie McNeil. His first record producer credit was for his longtime collaborator Folk singer Corin Raymond. Sean still receives SOCAN royalties from writing collaborations with the latter three artists. You can see Sean performing solo from Gravenhurst to North Bay, from Burk's Falls to Parry Sound. These performances are a highly revered one-man band experience, with Sean filling out the back beat of the music with his feet by performing percussion on a tambourine adorned guitar case and sporting ankle bells on his left leg. He is constantly creating bands to suit all occasions that get thrown his direction. He currently performs his original music with a quartet fittingly named The New Locals.

Joel Plaskett

Wednesday, June 18
Doors open at 7 PM; Show begins at 7:30 PM
Tickets: $48.23 plus applicable fees & taxes

Joel Plaskett - 30+ years on records and the road, still restless & rolling on

For over three decades, Joel Plaskett has proven himself a spinning wheel of reinvention. The Nova Scotia songwriter's eclectic body of work reveals a restless and playful spirit, always transforming and expanding.

While continuing to celebrate -- and be celebrated for -- his regional ties and embrace of East Coast musical traditions, Joel’s omnivorous appetite for new sonic horizons is an integral part of his work. His discography includes heavy riff epics, like Thrush Hermit's now-classic swansong Clayton Park (1999); low-fi and wide eyed solo records like In Need of Medical Attention (1999) and La De Da (2005); lean, loose and lyrical rock and roll with the Emergency on Down at the Khyber (2001) and Truthfully, Truthfully (2003); and a father-and-son nod to English folk traditions with Solidarity (2017). Then there are the endeavours that push the envelope further: the Emergency’s romantic epic concept album Ashtray Rock (2007); the months-long songwriting challenge Scrappy Happiness (2012); and Three (2009) and 44 (2020), Joel’s sprawling, multi-record ventures exploring love, loss, and existential investigation. For his latest release, the 4-track project One Real Reveal (2024), Plaskett strips his songwriting down to its raw materials, allowing everything in—all the human touches the tape could pick up—and letting
(almost) everything out.

Coast-to-coast and the world 'round, Joel has rocked crowds at clubs, festivals and grand old theatres with longtime Emergency bandmates Dave Marsh and Chris Pennell as well as drawn audiences close with intimate acoustic shows, both solo and with his father, Bill. Then there are the special events that have really allowed Joel to reach the rafters, like headlining Toronto’s Massey Hall with everyone in tow, playing the NAC in Ottawa backed by the national orchestra, and warming up huge stages for artists like The Tragically Hip and Paul McCartney.

Jack Hutton & Friends Celebrate Irving Berlin

Friday, June 20
Doors open at 7 PM; Show begins at 7:30 PM
Tickets: $25 plus applicable fees & taxes

Two months after he turns 92, Jack is looking forward to what may be his last concert at the Gravenhurst Opera House. It promises to be one of his best programs since his group's first concert there decades ago. All of the musicians since last year's near sell-out will be returning, including Ross Wooldridge, Canada's top jazz clarinet player, known in Toronto as "Canada's Benny Goodman. Also returning are Will Wilson on banjo and guitar , who has been playing with Jack since both were in the Rainbow Gardens Jazz Orchestra in Toronto, Bob Muir on trombone and Ralph Johnson on string bass.

The June 20th concert is going to highlight the life story and music of Irving Berlin, who has been called the greatest songwriter who ever lived. Born in Russia in 1888, Berlin came to New York City with his family at the age of five and began hawking newspapers on the streets at an early age to help support his impoverished family. He heard music for hours each day from restaurants and saloons on both sides of the street and began singing some of the popular songs after passers-by would reward him by throwing pennies. That led to a job as a singing waiter where he taught himself how to play piano in his spare time. For some obscure reason he learned how to play in the key of F sharp and played and composed in that key only for his entire life. He bought a piano with a transposing rod that allowed him to play in other keys.

Berlin required someone else to put his music on paper for publishing all through his 60-year musical career and could not read other people's sheet music for years after he started composing. It sounds incredible that someone with all his shortcomings would be showered with awards during his lifetime but he won an Academy Award, Grammy Awards and the highest civilian award that the U.S. government offers. George Gershwin was the one who called Berlin the great songwriter who has ever lived. Jerome Kern said Berlin had no place in American music because he WAS American music.

Jack made contact with the Berlin family after recording a tape with Berlin's early music in the mid-1990's. Jack corresponded with Mary Ellin Barret, the eldest of Berlin's three daughters, and was extremely flattered when she told him his playing on his tape was the way their father's music should be played. We are hoping to have that original tape available as a CD at the concert. You will hear more stories about Berlin at the June 20th concert along with songs from Dunn's Pavilion and the Great American Songbook. Be prepared when you are asked to sing along!
