Water Safety

With so many activities in Gravenhurst and amazing scenery, we know you want to spend time in the water and on the water, but before you head out, please be safe. Even experienced swimmers and boaters can end up in trouble quickly. Make sure the whole family is safe on and in the water.

Top tips to be safe around water:

  • Have a swim buddy and actively supervise children and inexperienced swimmers.
  • Life jackets save lives. Find out the differences between Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) and life jackets
  • It's never too late or to early to learn to swim. Sign up for swimming lessons and make sure children learn early.
  • Be prepared - bring your life jackets, learn CPR, have a first aid kit and learn how to use it.
