Closure of All Town Parks, Trails and Cemeteries in Gravenhurst
Effective immediately, all parks and trails within the Town of Gravenhurst are closed until further notice. This precautionary measure is being taken to ensure public safety due to unsafe conditions caused by severe weather. Town staff, including certified arborists, will be conducting thorough assessments of all parks and trails to evaluate the extent of potential hazards and facilitate necessary repairs. This will take some time to complete and will begin once road and sidewalk cleanup and warmer weather allow.
Signage will be posted in the coming days, however consider the list below closed until further notice.

Important Safety Notice
- Tree hazards: Given the recent weather, tree branches are unstable, and the presence of damaged trees can pose significant risk.
- Trail conditions: The trails are unstable, muddy, and many sections may have been eroded or obstructed.
- Public safety: We urge all residents and visitors to refrain from visiting these areas to prevent injury and allow Town staff to conduct their assessments and necessary maintenance safely.

Recreational Trails
The Town of Gravenhurst maintains nine different and unique recreational trails for a total of 35 km of walking and hiking trails. Our trails range from easy to challenging and offer a free, fun and healthy way for residents and visitors alike to get out and get active all year round.
Whether you feel like a relaxed walk along Lake Muskoka, a peaceful stroll through old dirt roads and forests or a more challenging day hike through rugged terrain, there is a trail for you.
ATVs
At this time Gravenhurst does not have any public use ATV trails. However you are welcome to explore information about trails in our neighbouring locations.
