Recreation Programs

The Town of Gravenhurst is home to a wide range of recreational, arts and cultural programs for youth, adults and seniors. Some opportunities are offered directly by the Town and others by wonderful organizations in our area. Indoor Walking

Ready, set, walk! Is the weather outside deterring you from getting your exercise in for the day? Join us for FREE indoor walking around the perimeter of the rink at the Gravenhurst Centennial Centre. No registration required!

Public Skating

Public Skating takes place at the Graeme Murray Arena in the Centennial Centre. September through April. Fee is $2 at the door. Please check our community calendar for the most up-to-date schedule.

Winter Tracks

Make some winter tracks in Gravenhurst this Winter on a guided snowshoe hike through one of our gorgeous trails. Ages 9+

Archery Tag

Get ready for a thrilling, action-packed experience with Archery Tag! Combining the skills of archery with the excitement of tag, this program lets teens go head-to-head in a safe, team-based competition. Ages 13-17.

A dynamic, full-body exercise program that combines outdoor-walking with the use of poles to enhance your workout. If the weather is not suitable, we will move inside to walk around the arena. Ages 18+

Registration for a recreation program at the Town of Gravenhurst is easy!

Online registration is convenient and user friendly. We use a registration system called ActiveNet and it only takes a few moments to set yourself up. Once your account is created and activated, you will be able to register for programs and view receipts from previous programs. Please note that as a parent/guardian of a household, you will need to create an account for yourself first, then you will be able to create one for your child.

IN PERSON
Drop off completed registration form (PDF) at the Centennial Centre – Recreation Department Office. In person registrations are available during office hours.

The total fee is due at the time of registration. Payments may be made by cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard or cheque (payable to the Town of Gravenhurst).

Our priorities are safety and communication. Sometimes unexpected events necessitate that a program or service must be moved, postponed or cancelled outright. In those circumstances we will post the relevant information as soon as it is available. Every effort will be made to make up the affected missed classes if possible.

During bad weather days, decisions whether programs will be running or not will be made by 3 hours in advance of the program start time and the information posted. The Town will make every attempt to list all current emergency or unexpected cancellations or closures for Town of Gravenhurst programs and events. However, we cannot guarantee that a cancelled program will be listed here. All Town of Gravenhurst programming may be subject to change. Please use your own best judgment to assess local road conditions before venturing out.

March Break

The Town of Gravenhurst, Gravenhurst Public Library, EarlyON, Gravenhurst YMCA, and the Muskoka Discovery Centre team up to offer a great week full of activities for all ages. See you in 2025!

Swimming Lessons

There is something special about learning to swim in a lake! The Town of Gravenhurst offers Lifesaving Society swimming lessons. Program scheduling is based on the availability of instructors and registration numbers. Registration closed for the season.

Community Gardens

A community garden is a public space where individuals and families learn how to grow their own vegetables in a caring and supportive manner. Join your neighbours and plan an edible garden on the grounds at the Gravenhurst Centennial Centre. No gardening experience necessary. Program full for this season.
