Gravenhurst Public Library Board

The Gravenhurst Public Library Board is responsible for providing the community with excellent service by:

  • anticipating and responding to the changing library and information needs;
  • serving all members of the community; and
  • generating community pride in the Library.

The Public Library Board is made up of eight (8) public members and one (1) Councillor. Appointed members must meet the following criteria in accordance with the Public Libraries Act:

  • a resident of the Town of Gravenhurst;
  • not an employee of the Library or the Town of Gravenhurst or the District of Muskoka;
  • available for evening meetings;
  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least eighteen years old; and
  • previous committee experience is preferred.

The Board meets at 6 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month (excluding July & August)

All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Maud Mary Swalm Program Room on the Library's main floor.
