Vision Statement
The Gravenhurst Public Library will continue to be a vibrant, informed and inspired leader in the community. The Library will reflect the needs of the community by creating a larger space, hiring more staff and improving resources through community partnerships, fundraising and donations.

If you would like to attend our Board Meetings, please email Julia for more information. The library board meets on the second Thursday of the month except for July and August at 6:00 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and take place in the programming room on the main floor of the library.

Strategic Plan 2024-2028
The Gravenhurst Public Library Board is responsible for providing the community with excellent service by:
- anticipating and responding to the changing library and information needs;
- serving all members of the community; and
- generating community pride in the Library.
Composition and Membership Requirements
The Public Library Board is made up of eight (8) public members and one (1) Councillor. Appointed members must meet the following criteria in accordance with the Public Libraries Act:
- a resident of the Town of Gravenhurst;
- not an employee of the Library or the Town of Gravenhurst or the District of Muskoka;
- available for evening meetings;
- a Canadian citizen;
- at least eighteen years old; and
- previous committee experience is preferred.
The Board meets at 6 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month (excluding July & August)
All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Maud Mary Swalm Program Room on the Library's main floor.
